During the last conversation session (Advanced), we came across a couple of expressions to start and finish a letter such as:

  • أخْتي الحَبيبة (my dear sister)
  • أخيكِ المُحِبّ (your loving brother)

Both expressions الحبيبة and مُحِبّ are derivatives from the verb أحَبَّ. Whereas الحبيبة is an adjective qualifying a noun, the word المُحِبّ is referring to the subject who is “loving”: it is an active participle إسْم فاعِل .
